What Does "Private" Mean on the Donation Form?

When making a donation, donors have the option to mark their contribution as Private. This means their name won't appear publicly on the campaign's page — but the campaign still receives all the necessary information for compliance and reporting purposes.

Donors who choose to stay private will appear as "Anonymous" on public-facing fundraiser pages. This is separate from reporting — campaigns always receive full donor details regardless of the privacy setting.

Important note for political campaigns: The anonymous/private setting only affects how a donor appears on the GoodChange platform. If you're donating to a candidate or PAC, your contribution will still be reported to the appropriate governing body as required by law.
