Fraud Prevention: Gift Cards, Pre-paid cards, CVC/CVV, and more
GoodChange employs stringent anti-fraud measures to protect our fundraisers and our donors. That's why we require CVC verification, it's why we prohibit gift cards and pre-paid cards, and it's why we monitor the site for any activity that appears suspicious or out of the ordinary.
From our processor, Stripe: "Stripe provides the CVC, postal code, and billing street address [to the card network] for them to verify. The card issuer checks this against the information they have on file for the cardholder. If the provided information doesn’t match, the verification check fails. A failed CVC or postal code check can indicate the payment is fraudulent, so review it carefully before submitting your contribution."
