# Email a group of contributors

To email a group of contributors, first build an audience segment that picks who gets it. A segment is a saved question about your contributors, such as who gave over $100. Once it's saved, you can email the people in it.

### Build a segment

1. Click **Marketing** in the left menu, then the **Audience segments** tab.
2. Click **New segment**. On an empty list, click **Build your first segment**.

3. Enter a **Name**, for example "Major contributors near Little Rock".
4. Under **Which forms**, choose **All forms** or **Selected forms**.
5. Turn on any of these rules:
   - **Amount contributed**: set **at least $** and **up to $**. This is the lifetime total across the forms you chose, not a single payment.
   - **Payment activity**
   - **Near a place**
6. Check **Who this matches**. The count updates as you change the rules.
7. Click **Create segment**.

### Write and send the email

1. Open the segment.
2. Start a new email from it.
3. Write the subject and message, check it, and send.

### Let the Agent draft it

Click **Agent** in the top bar and ask it to draft an email, for example a thank-you to first-time contributors. The Agent writes the draft. Sending from the Agent is turned off, so copy the draft into your email and send it from the segment.

The Agent can also **Find contributors to win back**: people who gave before and stopped.
